Join the Movement! The sickle cell TRAIT is not a safe zone.
This 501(c)3 nonprofit organization was established in memory of the late, Journey Bessai GyeNyame Butler and to raise awareness of health concerns associated with the sickle cell trait (SCT).
The Journey to Happiness Movement, Inc. (J2HM) mission is to educate society about the health concerns associated with the sickle cell trait that are unrecognized and unknown by most.
Why J2HM, Inc.?
On February 11, 2016, at only thirteen, Journey Bessai GyeNyame Butler was diagnosed with Renal Medullary Carcinoma; a rare cancer associated with the sickle cell trait. Until this point, she lived a normal teenage life. She loved family, friends, texting, and many athletic activities. After experiencing back/side pain for two months, all activities came to a halt. Not even five months later on July 7, 2016, Journey took her last breath.
J2HM, Inc. was founded for the purposes of keeping Journey’s beautiful legacy alive and to inform society that the sickle cell trait can be extremely problematic.
